Summary
Appointed as Medical Properties Trust’s (based in the USA) development monitoring surveyor for the forward funding of this private hospital development. We appraised the Development Agreement, developer’s costs, programme, site layout, designs and specifications and continued to monitor the project during construction. An important aspect was the approval of drawdowns requested by the developer under the Agreement.
Result
Six months into the project, the construction underwent modification in order to accommodate a further 120 bed rehabilitation ward. In addition we overcame significant challenges when the main contractor ceased trading and we supported our client, with the M&E sub-contractor in taking over the role in order to bring the project to a successful completion.
