What sparks my working fire?

Transactional surveys every time. The buildings are the boring bit, it’s dealing with the legal context of the building, be that an older building with legacy issues or a new build with construction documentation issues. I enjoy looking beyond the ‘white box gloss’, both literally and metaphorically, to add real value to the transaction process. Where I can assist a deal being structured to a favourable outcome based upon my advice, it is job well done!

A good data room index – I’ve discovered I’m a frustrated librarian and my heart skips when I open a data room to find the index function and all documents clearly referenced. It’s the only way to make ordered sense out of the chaos of information overload.

What else do I want to disclose about myself?

I think the fact that staff got me a mug that reads “I’m not rude, I just say what everyone else is thinking” says it all.

My happy place is our wonderful countryside and in a different life I worked at a city farm to educate city folks about farm animals and food production – we reared pigs, cows, sheep and goats as part of the mixed menagerie and market garden. More recently I have entered the shooting world, picking up with my working labrador. Whilst shooting is not for me, it’s great to be outside and working my dog to do what she is bred to do. As such you will generally find I’m off most Fridays from October through January. Then it’s time to go skiing!
