News: RICS Young Surveyor 2016 success for Natasha Tyler

Tash Young Surveyor of the Year 2016 award

The 27-year-old is one of 10 young professionals to have been honoured in a variety of categories at the ceremony which was held on 18 November 2016 in London. Named as the winner of the Building Surveying category after being nominated by the firm, the judging panel said:

"A chartered building surveyor who manages high profile clients, Natasha, of Powell Williams LLP in London, excels at recognising opportunities for her clients which often result in projects coming in under budget and ahead of schedule. This leads to frequent return business and trust in her advice."

RICS judges identified that Natasha works hard in maintaining client satisfaction and strives to understand their needs and exceed expectations. She is currently exploring the opportunities of using drone technology and how this can enhance the quality of service provided by her company.

The judges also wished to acknowledge the role Natasha has already played as an RICS ambassador by being a local RICS Matrics Chairman and also joining the RICS Matrics UK Board.

These roles have seen her manage many support events and CPD sessions and drive forward some of the collateral to inspire the next generation.

A great year
Natasha said: "RICS sets the standard in this industry and so it is an enormous honour to win an award like this. I am truly delighted to have been named as the top young surveyor in my category and can only thank my tutors, colleagues, mentors and the partners at Powell Williams for supporting me, giving me the chance to develop professionally, and helping towards this achievement."

Natasha has been with Powell Williams for more than 18 months and in that time has been promoted to senior surveyor, taken on the role of mentoring junior members of the team, and manages her own portfolio of client assets. This year she has also picked up the RICS Matrics 1913 Wilderness Award, an accolade voted for by members of the RICS Matrics board and alumni, for her dedicated service to the organisation and promotion of the surveying industry.

Powell Williams is delighted
Andrew Marshall, lead partner in Powell Williams' London office, said: "Natasha is an exceptional practitioner and has been an exemplary member of the team since she joined us last year. We have always found her to be hardworking, dedicated, commercially savvy and professional at every turn, so it's no surprise to us that she should be named as the best young building surveyor in the business.

"We are extremely lucky to have an excellent team of young surveyors working alongside the senior partners throughout all of our four offices around the country. Supporting the next generation of professionals within our industry has always been incredibly important to the partners, who all benefitted themselves from experienced mentors in their own careers, and this will continue to be a focus for us here at Powell Williams."
